Narcissus Reflection
Narcissus Reflection
Original hand-cut and layered paper artwork of narcissus flowers.
In the myth of Narcissus, a beautiful young man falls in love with his own reflection after seeing it in a pool and grows so entranced by the image that he pined away and died. His body disappears and all that is left is a narcissus flower. In this piece, I attempt to retell the myth of Narcissus and his love for his reflection by depicting a mirror image of narcissus flowers in the composition.
All product photos are taken in natural lighting to emphasize the color of the paper in the artwork. Glare, shadows, and reflections on glass are normal and expected in photos taken in natural light.
