La Belle Helene

Original hand-cut, painted, and layered paper artwork of a nude woman reclining on a couch with a red deer at her feet, surrounded by mythological creatures. The composition is a cut paper interpretation of Georges Barbier's 1922 illustration "La Belle Helene" based on Helen of Troy whose unparalleled beauty was a cause of the Trojan War.

This piece is unique and one-of-a-kind. Approximately 100+ hours of work.

All product photos are taken in natural lighting to emphasize the color of the paper in the artwork. Glare, shadows, and reflections on glass are normal and expected in photos taken in natural light.

All cut paper work is made by hand and is one-of-a-kind unique. Some variations may occur between finished pieces. Time invested in drawing the image, selecting paper colors, hand-cutting each piece, assembling, and gluing: 130 hours.
